Reading List
The most recent reads for this year are found at the
top. This page is more for me to keep track of things than it
is for anyone else. Hopefully I won't be accused of
navel-gazing. Here are the lists for

Not, perhaps, as good as Peter Duck but still very good.
My advice to anyone planning on reading this book:
get the maps in your head before you start out.
Understanding where you are and where they're going will
help you enjoy the book more.

Peter Duck : A Treasure Hunt in the Caribbees
Arthur Ransome
(
London, Great Britain: Cox & Wyman Ltd, 1968
)
Book number 2 in the

This is easily the best-written book I have read in ages.
In fact, I can't think of a better one.
The front page quotes Hugh Walpole:
"Peter Duck is so well written that you don't realize
that it is written at all.
The adventures just seem to occur to oneself."
I heartily agree.
